Oscar Nominations 2024: An incredible nomination for Lily Gladstone. Compared to Oppenheimer’s thirteen nominations, Poor Things garnered eleven. For a total of twelve nominations over his career, Bradley Cooper gained three more; nevertheless, neither he nor Greta Gerwig were awarded best director.
Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid announced the Oscar nominees for 2024 in real time from the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre. Notable news received nominations for a number of significant previous-year films. Going into the nomination process, Oppenheimer, Barbie, Killers of the Flower Moon, Poor Things, and The Holdovers all looked promising because they had won at the Critics Choice and Golden Globes and had the backing of the director, actor, and producer guilds—which account for a sizable percentage of the Academy’s voting membership. However, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, a possible best picture nominee, and animated classics like Maestro and Past Lives fought for that position.
