The most well-known figure in the country music business, Toby Keith, passed away from the stomach cancer he had been fighting for a long time.
The 62-year-old artist announced on social media that he had died with his loved ones by his side after passing away on Monday.
According to the news report, “Toby Keith passed away peacefully last night, February 5, with his family by his side.” He was a demonstration of grace and bravery on the battlefield. We kindly request that you respect his family’s privacy at this time.
Following his death, Tricia Lucas, Keith’s wife, and their three children—son Stelen, daughters Shelley Covel Rowland and Krystal Keith, and their four grandchildren—remain.
The lead singer of the band As Good As I Once revealed in June 2022 that he had received a stomach cancer diagnosis the year before.
Following his diagnosis, he proceeded to undertake more performances, which included fully sold-out events in Las Vegas in December 2023.
Keith shared his open opinions about his struggle with cancer in an interview with 9News earlier this month, calling it a “roller coaster.”
“You just have to sit here and wait for it to go away, and it might not go away at all,” said Keith. “Even if it goes into remission, you will still think about it sometimes,” he said.
The Red Solo Cup frontman went on, “You take it for granted on the days when things are good and you lean on it when things are bad.” “You lean on it when things are bad.” I now realise that I ought to depend on it a little more each day.
