Raphael Dwamena, a former striker for Ghana, passed away suddenly on Saturday after fainting during an Albanian Super League match.
According to the Albanian Football Federation, Dwamena, 28, passed away.
The football player looked to collapse on the field by himself in the 24th minute of Partizani vs. Egnatia, Dwamena, according to footage posted on social media.
As more gamers raced to the scene, the gang said that “the player unfortunately passed away,” despite the individual receiving immediate medical attention.
At 1-1, play was discontinued.
Dwamena has nine goals this season, which puts them atop the Albanian Super League. In his eight Ghanaian appearances, he scored twice.
The Ghana Football Association issued the following statement: “We are saddened to learn of the passing of our former player Raphael Dwamena and wish to extend our sincere condolences to his family during this difficult time.”

The local media reported on the player’s history of cardiac issues, including his hospitalization in 2021 during a match against Austria’s Blau-Veis Linz due to heart problems; however, the Albanian federation withheld the cause of the hospitalization.
Dwamena resided in Denmark, Spain, and Switzerland while pursuing his career.
Coach Sylvinho, a Brazilian, wrote on social media, “Rest in peace.” My condolences to friends and family.
Both Zaragoza and Levante expressed their sympathies for the player’s passing.
Dwamena was loaned to Zaragoza for the 2019–20 season following a season with Levante in 2018.
