On Friday, a suicide blast at a Rabiul Awwal parade in Mastung, Balochistan, killed 52 people, including a police officer, and injured 50.
DHO Abdul Rasheed Shahi confirmed the deaths, while SHO Mohammad Javed Lehri reported that a police official perished.
Dr. Saeed Mirwani, CEO of Shaheed Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital, said scores were treated and over 20 were referred to Quetta.
“The process of moving bodies and injured persons continues even now,” the hospital CEO said, transporting 22 to Mastung.
Unverified photos and videos showed bloodied corpses and damaged limbs as spectators investigated the wreckage.

Mastung Assistant Commissioner (AC) Atta-ul-Munim told Dawn.com that an Eid-e-Miladun Nabi procession near Madina Masjid on Alfalah Road exploded.

The Suicide Bomber
DIG Munir Ahmed told Reuters that the explosive detonated near the DSP’s vehicle. The incident occurred near the mosque during a public march to honour Prophet Muhammad‘s (PBUH) birthday.
The Mastung AC named the slain DSP as Nawaz Gishkori. SHO Lehri said the incident was a “suicide blast”.
A Mastung hospital treated casualties of a September 29 Balochistan religious gathering suicide attack.
“A suicide bomber targeted a procession of hundreds leaving the Madina mosque on Al Falah Road,” said Mastung Deputy Commissioner Abdul Razzaq Sasoli.
 The proscribed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan denied the incident.
Balochistan IG Abdul Khaliq Sheikh said DSP Gishkori died combating a suicide bomber.
He claimed terrorism seeks anarchy and instability in Balochistan. “Police must act strongly against bombers and shelter providers.”

He said “police teams from other emergency departments are present at the site of the explosion,” and three more people, including a DSP, were injured.
 ‘Perpetrators deserve no leniency’
A September 29 suicide attack on a Balochistan religious gathering hospitalised Mastung residents. (Reuters/Shaheed Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital, Mastung) Radio Pakistan said that Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar strongly condemned the Mastung blast and committed to combating terrorism.
In separate comments, the premier and President Dr. Arif Alvi expressed sincere sadness for the fatalities and urged officials to provide the best medical care to the injured.
Interim Interior Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, too, condemned the blast and mourned the victims.

Bugti stated that “terrorists have no faith or religion” and that all resources were being used for rescue. He said terrorists deserved no concession, and victims would be treated with no compromise.
