A teen scuffle at Bayside Marketplace in Miami sparks rumours of shadow aliens

Miami — On Monday night, a significant youth altercation at Bayside Marketplace in downtown Miami turned violent. What happened next, according to a number of social media users, was even more strange.

There was speculation on Twitter and other social media platforms that the police were responding to “8–10-foot-tall shadow aliens” rather than a bunch of misbehaving children when the brawl drew a sizable police presence that evening.

An amateur video appears to have been uploaded to the internet, in which a large “creature” is seen periodically standing in front of the mall’s entrance. Because of this, a lot of conspiracy theorists felt obliged to share their opinions about what happened on Monday night.

And then, naturally, the memes started to circulate.

“I don’t know if the rumours about the aliens at the Miami Mall are real, but I do know I never saw this many police in one place,” a user on X said.

“Everybody has cell phones, but nobody has an up-close video of the 8–10 foot alien by the Miami mall.” Someone else made a post.

Another user posted, “Me greeting the aliens at the Miami mall.”

A few more humorous tweets regarding the subject

The City of Miami Police has been contacted by News Miami to seek an official statement regarding the conspiracy and rumours. Reiterating the events of the fifty-year-old altercation, Officer Michael Vega emoji-ingrated a face palm and stated, “There were no ETs, UFOs, or aliens there.” “There were no blacked-out airports or power disruptions.”

The hashtags “Miami Mall” and “Aliens in Miami” were in the top 10 on Twitter’s Trending tab on Friday. Google News compiled even more news sources that showed a readiness to accept the existence of reality.

For a while now, but particularly in the last year, aliens and unexplained flying objects have been in the headlines.

During a July 2023 House session, a former military commander who later became a whistleblower informed the lawmakers that Congress is not being informed about unexplained aerial phenomena (commonly known as UAPs, or unidentified flying objects, or UFOs). A Harvard lecturer and a veteran US Navy pilot made the exact same remarks during that same session.
