Popular actor and former bureaucrat K. Shivaram passed away on Thursday at the age of 71. K. Shivram is currently receiving treatment at HCG Hospital since his condition has been worse over the last four days.
When the actor was ventilated in the intensive care unit on Wednesday, he was allegedly in a bad condition. The news has shocked both his ardent fan base and the entire Kannada film industry.
K. Shivaram, who studied Kannada as his language of instruction, became the first Kannadiga to pass the Indian Administrative Service exam. He later rose to prominence in both the government and the film business. He worked in Koppala, Davangere, Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Vijayapura, among other places, in the civil service.

With “Ba Nalle Madhuchandrake,” Shivaram made his film debut in Kannada. He quickly rose to fame by starring in movies like “Vasanta Kavya” and as a villain in “Sangliana 3.”
After retiring in 2013, K. Shivaram continued his multifaceted career in politics. He was an early supporter of the Congress Party when he entered politics. In 2014, he made an effort to run for a Lok Sabha seat from the Vijayapura constituency, but his campaign was not successful. Ultimately, he became an adherent of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He has received recognition for his work furthering Dalit rights throughout his political career.
