Muhammad Amir announced that he will be playing in the T20 World Cup in 2024, following productive PCB talks.
Due to PCB management issues, Amir’s 31-year-old international career came to a stop in 2020. He still qualifies for consideration.
Amir said on Sunday that he would represent Pakistan on Twitter’s previous platform, X. He declared that he wouldn’t be retiring.
“Playing for Pakistan is still my dream,” Amir declared on X. “It’s important to me.” Everyone occasionally regrets the choices they make in life.
I’m free to join the T20 World Cup. After our fruitful conversations, the Pakistan Cricket Board proposed that I consider playing for my country. We told relatives along with our friends.

With the 2024 Twenty20 World Cup drawing near, supporters were happy to see the 31-year-old play cricket again internationally. He bowled in nine Pakistan Super League (PSL) games, showcasing his new ball and death-over skills in an incredible season that came to an end.
Amir, for all his passion, gave up on representing his country in cricket. I think he’ll participate in the World Twenty20 Cup in 2024.
The cricket player from Pakistan has participated in 61 one-day internationals, 50 Twenty20s, and 36 Tests. 2020 saw him participate in his final international game. The bowler helped Pakistan win the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy and the 2009 ICC Twenty20 World Cup.
After overcoming Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Shikar Dhawan in the final over, he won the Champions Trophy for Pakistan for the first time in eighteen years. It was the first Champions Trophy victory for Pakistan.
