Seven months before he was “offered” the role, Aaron Taylor-Johnson was severely pushed away from his James Bond acting ability.
On Tuesday, March 19, the producers said that the actors of Kick-Ass, who most recently acted in Christopher Nolan‘s Tenet and Bullet Train, were their first choice to replace Daniel Craig in the spy thriller. It appears that executives are awaiting his response.
The position first became associated with Taylor-Johnson in January 2023. Producer Barbara Broccoli of 007 was impressed by the stars of A Million Little Pieces and Nowhere Boy during a screen test.
Taylor-Johnson, 33, was interviewed in August 2023 to discuss Bond rumours and to promote Sony’s much-delayed Kraven the Hunter spin-off of Spider-Man.
The actor answered broadly to Esquire’s query, saying, “What comes from [Kraven] could generate many different conversations.”
“But this is the thing, right?” Johnson enquired. Johnson revealed to the interviewer that the bookmakers believed he was superior. As I said, I had to find my speed. That seems to make the most sense.
