Bev Brock, longtime partner of Peter Brock, dies at 77

Bev Brock, the longtime wife of Australian racing star Peter Brock, died at the age of 77 two years after being diagnosed with cancer.

During his races, the couple, who had two children together and spent more than three decades together, was a common sight in the pits.

When Peter died a year later, after Bev and he split up in 2005, she found herself embroiled in a legal battle over his inheritance.

She was still excited about life and the relationship, though.

She gave a life reflection in 2015 and said, “I think I have had a blessed existence; I have had a privileged life,” to ABC Radio National.

“Peter and I shared 28 years of a most amazing relationship.”

James Brock, her son, sent a message on Facebook where he discussed his mother’s passing.

According to Brock, “Bev was a dedicated parent, always making time to make a play costume or help out at a school camp.”

“She dedicated her life to helping Peter’s racing career take on multiple roles, all met with skill, smarts, and purpose.”

The documentary filmmaker from Brock describes Bev as “extraordinary.”

Bev Brock passed away, shocking director Kriv Stenders, who helmed a documentary on Peter Brock in 2020.

“She’s probably one of the most remarkable, extraordinary, resilient, and ferocious women I’ve ever met in my life,” Stenders said on ABC Melbourne radio.

He claimed that during the 1970s and 1980s, Bev Brock aided her partner’s success.

According to Stenders, “Peter Brock would not be the same without Bev.”

Bev was an automaton; she could arrange sponsorships and prepare meals in an instant.

“She didn’t have any regrets; she was very proud of the legacy that she and Peter Brock had built.”

Brock has seven grandchildren and three children.
