After Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life for raping two women, his wife, Bijou Phillips, filed for divorce, according to Phillips’ attorney, who told CBS News.
“Ms. Phillips has decided to file for divorce from her husband at this unfortunate time,” stated attorney Peter Lauzon. Her daughter remains her priority. Through this, the couple and family have endured unthinkable hardship.

Lauzon said Phillips “acknowledges that Mr. Masterson is a wonderful father to their daughter.”
Masterson, 47, was convicted of two rape offenses from 20 years earlier in July. In the retrial after a December 2022 mistrial, the jury deadlocked on a third rape charge.
Phillips, who witnessed Masterson’s conviction, cried as he was carried out of the courthouse, according to the Associated Press.
Masterson was imprisoned for 30 years earlier this month. Reuters said that he didn’t testify or speak during his punishment.
