Brian Lara discusses RCB's "structural problem" after three IPL 2024 losses

Following four of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) team’s five IPL 2024 losses, West Indies batsman Brian Lara questioned the systemic issues facing the franchise.

The only two RCB batters to score more than 100 runs in the IPL are Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli. Their problems have not been limited to the bowling department.

Even with their top T20 players, Brian Lara told the Star Sports Press Room that RCB and Mumbai Indians still need to strengthen their batting lineups if they hope to score more runs.

“Michigan is getting back on track after a recent victory.” It was amazing to watch the West Indian Romario Shepherd flourish. Their timing was impeccable. Despite their structural issues, RCB plays quite well. The response from Lara was, “I don’t think they have the right team in the middle.”

I think their batting order is incorrect. MI is aware of who they will start with. SKY is struggling and has not yet scored any runs. They appear to be more adept at leveraging this competition to their advantage.

Brian Lara recommended that Bengaluru place more faith in its homegrown players because the team has lost four straight games and is unlikely to afford mistakes.

“RCB is still working as a unified team.” I think Mahipal Lomror exceeded all expectations by playing brilliantly, entering as an impact player, and choosing not to play against the Rajasthan Royals. He recommended that they focus more on developing local talent.

The focus is on R.C.B.’s global talent and victory percentage. They have strong local talent, which is crucial to winning an IPL championship, even with Virat Kohli. At crucial moments in the game, I want to see them.
