Chita Rivera, 60, died after 20 Broadway appearances, according to her daughter Lisa Mordente. She played Anita, Rose, Velma Kelly, and Aurora in West Side Story, Bye Bye Birdie, Chicago, and Kiss of the Spiderwoman. Aged 91.

In West Side Story, Rivera sang, danced, and acted. “I remember sitting next to Lenny and his starting with ‘A Boy Like That,’ teaching it to me and me saying, ‘I’ll never do this, I can’t hit those notes, I don’t know how to hit those notes.'”
Maslon praised her Broadway singing, acting, and dancing. The triple threat began. Fosse and Robbins needed Broadway agile players.”
Her 1960–2013 wins and losses. Rivera’s 1986 taxi crash. After a left leg injury, doctors told her she would never dance again, changing her routine.
