Bruins overcome Panthers 3-2 in overtime after a 2-goal deficit.

The Boston Bruins defeated the Florida Panthers 3-2 on Monday night, thanks to Pavel Zacha’s overtime goal with 84 seconds left.

Brad Marchand and Charlie McAvoy scored for the Boston Bruins, who have won nine straight games. (80–01). The previous season, Linus Ullmark made 36 saves, eliminating the Bruins from postseason contention after they established a record for regular season points and won the President’s Trophy.


Florida beat Boston in seven games to advance to the Stanley Cup finals. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 23 shots. Aleksander Barkov scored and assisted.

Marchand sliced the lead in half four minutes into the second period with a Jake DeBrusk-assisted backhand shot. Seven minutes into the third period, McAvoy launched the Bruins’ zone break, which tied the game.

McAvoy elbowed Oliver Ekman-Larsson in the head midway through the second quarter, prompting debate regarding game misconduct. Zacha’s right-side wrist shot gave the Bruins an overtime lead. The Bruins were on a five-minute power play.

Moving Forwards Panthers forward Sam Bennett, who had missed the first seven games due to a lower body ailment, needed help walking off the ice in the second period. Bennett played his first-season game. Bennetttt was unhappy and unable to use his left leg when Bruins defenseman Hampus Lindholm pushed him in front of the nett.

The team reported that defenseman Matt Grzelcyk will not return after leaving the game in the first period with an upper body injury.

On Monday, the Bruins revealed that forward Danton Heinen had signed a one-year, $775,000 contract. In 65 games with the Penguins last season, Heinen scored eight goals and fourteen assists. A 2014 fourth-round pick, he played for the Bruins from 2016 until his 2018 trade to the Ducks.
