Actor Dinesh Phadnis, best known for playing Fredericks in the hit Sony TV series CID, has passed away. His co-star Dayanand Shetty confirmed this. “Dinesh passed away at 12:08 in the morning,” he said.
There were reports earlier this week that Dinesh suffered a hearing attack. Dayanand Shetty refuted the claims, saying that instead of having a heart attack, Dinesh was suffering from liver disease.
Dayanand Shetty, who played Daya in CID, said, “To begin with, Tunga Hospital in Malad was called to treat him immediately because he wasn’t suffering from a heart attack but rather from liver damage. He has spent the last two days being very critical. Additionally, I found out this morning (Sunday) that not much has changed. We’re hoping he gets better soon.”

He said, “Dinesh was taking medication for a different ailment, but the medication proved bad for his liver. For this reason, it is usually recommended to take medications very cautiously. It’s seldom certain if taking medicine for one ailment will cause another major one. One should use the utmost caution when using allopathic drugs.”

In an interview, Dinesh revealed that he was having problems locating parts and that he was running with CID’s producer, B. P. Singh, everywhere he went in search of employment.
