The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Memphis Grizzlies 134-107 on Tuesday night in the NBA at-Season Tournament to win their third straight game. D’Angelo Russell scored 24 points, in addition to Anthony Davis‘ 19 points, 11 rebounds, and six blocked shots.
LeBron James led the Lakers to their first easy win of the season after just 23 minutes of play, finishing with 16 points and 9 rebounds. The Lakers are currently 5-0 at home and 2-0 in tournament play.
Austin Reaves made four 3-pointers on route to a final line of 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists. Russell drained six of the Lakers’ 22 3-point attempts. After a stretch of poor shooting performances in the team’s opening ten games, Los Angeles outrebounded Memphis 54–33 and made 58% of its shots, including 62.9% of 3-pointers, against the Grizz.
James stated, “You don’t want to be that guy who is struggling when the team is shooting so well.” “You want to lend a hand and become involved. It was an excellent shooting evening, and we won easily this evening.
Los Angeles, who hadn’t won a game by more than six points, surged ahead with a 31-point lead over the Grizzlies thanks to 12 of Rui Hachimura’s 23 points in the second half. James, Russell, and Davis were not allowed to touch the floor during the entire fourth quarter.
According to Hachimura, “We were just making them, and they were all pretty.” You’ll get easy looks, especially since LeBron and AD will be the focus of the defense’s attention.
After their unexpected victory against the Clippers on Sunday, the Grizzlies dropped their third game of the season and lost two more players due to injuries, despite Santi Aldama scoring a career-high 24 points.

Due to a left ankle injury, Marcus Smart departed the game in the first quarter and did not come back. The seasoned guard landed awkwardly on Reaves’s foot, finding it difficult to apply any pressure. After Memphis gets back home, Smart will undergo another assessment.
Under Davis’ guidance, the Grizzlies made 20 3-pointers, but they had trouble scoring in the paint. Due to a sore left knee, Luke Kennard was also forced to miss the second half of play.
Memphis’ coach Taylor Jenkins declared, “There are no excuses; we obviously have challenges.”The “next-man-up” mindset. Show off your fortitude, tenacity, and kind nature. It’s true. I can see it now. Even though they aren’t quite apparent yet, better times are coming. All we need to do is persevere and finish the task. Illnesses appear out of nowhere. They are currently piled high. Well, anything. Just never give up. That’s all that needs our attention.
In the first quarter, a scuffle between Davis and Aldama behind the hoop resulted in five technical fouls for each teams.
Aldama snatched up the ball and advanced toward Davis following his goal. In reaction, Davis shoved the Spanish player. Then, as Desmond Bane approached Davis, Russell gave him a shove. Jenkins received a T as well.
Then, behind Davis’ 15 points and 8 rebounds at the half, Los Angeles dominated the first half of the season, leading 74–51 at the break.
After missing Sunday’s game against Portland due to a shin injury, James is back. But Jarred Vanderbilt, who was cleared to resume his recovery from a heel problem that had kept him out of the game the entire season, and Gabe Vincent were not in Los Angeles’ lineup.
Even while it’s “not 100%, it’s still good enough to go out there,” James affirms.
