Australian Open: The renowned tennis star Rafael Nadal is expected to return to form for the first grand slam of the year in Australia next month, according to Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.
Rafael Nadal had 22 grand slam victories under his belt when a hip issue kept him out of 2023.
In January, the 37-year-old underwent surgery to address a muscle problem he developed at Melbourne Park. This next weekend, he’ll play in Brisbane once more before heading to the Australian Open.

Because of his continuous physical problems, Rafael Nadal plans to retire from professional tennis in 2024. Nadal hasn’t played as much on the court lately, but he has been practicing harder.
In an exhibition match in Riyadh on Wednesday, Alcaraz defeated Djokovic 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. “I always expect him to play at his best, to be honest,” Djokovic said.
Like they’ve done with me, they’ve signed him out on multiple occasions. However, we have disproved them. He is not the type of player who will return to the tour and perform at, let’s say, a mediocre level for a couple of games.
“He is a legend in our sport because he strives to be the best and win championships. His goal in training and preparation is unquestionably to win the Grand Slam.”
Alcaraz, who had lost two of his three meetings with the Spanish star, declared that his pal was fully recovered after watching films of Rafael Nadal working out.
“Players who have trained with Rafa in recent weeks have assured me that he will regain his previous level of performance. at his peak,” Alcaraz remarked.
