A caretaker health minister in Sindh has directed an investigation into a video that went viral, purportedly showing three people consuming drugs on the Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) campus.
Within five days, the university’s vice chancellor must complete the investigation and report back.

A video showing three students—two girls and a boy—smoking narcotics in a DUHS cafeteria has gone viral.
This kind of conduct brings shame onto all decent doctors and nurses in Sindh and the nation as a whole, and it is quite disturbing. Doctors, according to health minister Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz, are role models for our youth and, as such, deserve respect as honest and moral representatives.
Swift action on Drugs:
Observing such behavior brings disrepute to the entire profession. He concluded with the statement, “The demonstration of such conduct at Dow, which is generally considered one of Pakistan’s esteemed institutions, is shocking and requires swift action.”
At the same time, a representative from DUHS has stated that the school is looking into the matter and will act appropriately when it is over. “If necessary, the university may seek assistance from law enforcement agencies,” he further stated.
The provincial administration has now issued a prohibition on using sheesha and electronic cigarettes (vape) in public locations, which is worth noting. The 2002 Prohibition of Smoking and Protection of Non-Smokers Health Ordinance has officially mandated its enforcement.
