Former Celtics guard Rajon Rondo received a prison sentence for drug and weapons charges

WDRB-TV reported on Monday night that Rajon Rondo, a former Celtics point guard, was arrested on Sunday in Indiana for illegally possessing a firearm, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

According to court records and an Indiana State Police spokesman cited by WDRB-TV, Rondo faces charges of petty offenses in each case.

Sgt. Stephen Wheeles, a spokesman for the ISP, told WDRB-TV that a trooper smelled marijuana when they stopped Rondo, 37, on Sunday afternoon in Jackson County, Indiana, for a traffic offense.

During the next check, the security personnel discovered a pistol, marijuana for “personal use,” don’t use commas before and drug paraphernalia.

As soon as Rajon Rondo arrived at the Jackson County Jail, he promptly paid his bond.

A court-issued no-contact order prohibited Rondo from possessing a firearm, according to the TV station.

According to WDRB, Rondo has recently breached the law multiple times.

Back in 2022, a homeowner in Louisville filed for an emergency protection order, claiming that Rondo had threatened her life—don’t use commas before—don’t use commas before and shown her a pistol. Rondo actively participated in counseling, an anger management class, and a mental health evaluation before the order was lifted later that year.

However, the same lady requested another emergency protection order against Rondo in March 2023. Mutual agreement led to the cancellation of this order five months later.

Rajon Rondo played for the Boston Celtics for nine of his sixteen NBA seasons. As the team’s starting point guard, he contributed to their 2008 NBA Finals victory.
