Farooq Qaiser is a Pakistani puppeteer, artist, writer, and voice actor. One of his most well-known creations is the puppet character “Uncle Sargam.” He used a Google Doodle to commemorate his 78th birthday on Wednesday. This mascot won over the hearts of both kids and adults, and its popularity quickly expanded throughout American homes.

Every detail about Farooq Qaiser: Qaiser was born in Sialkot, Pakistan, in 1945. The Google Doodle website mentions his fine art education at the National College of Arts in Lahore. That was when he got his start in puppetry, working on the children’s TV series “Akka Bakkar” as a show writer and puppet maker.

He earned a master’s in mass communications from USC and a bachelor’s in graphic design from Bucharest.
“Kaliyan,” Qaiser’s own children’s show, quickly gained popularity after its premiere on Pakistani television (PTV). The program taught its youthful viewers important life lessons through humor and sarcasm. The protagonist of the play, Uncle Sargam, was endearing and relevant to both children and adults.
He was a cartoonist and columnist for an Urdu newspaper in addition to being a lecturer at the Fatima Jinnah Women’s University in Rawalpindi.
He is vice president of the Union Internationale de la Marionnette (UNIMA), which was co-founded in Pakistan.
In 1993, he was awarded the Presidential Pride of Performance award for his work; in 1997, he was named a UNICEF “Master Puppeteer”; and in 2010, he was given the PTV Lifetime Achievement Award.
Qaiser is known for his unwavering commitment and for changing Pakistani television entertainment and education.
