Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers passed away at the age of 66, less than two years after disclosing he had cancer.
Co-star Si King, a motorcycle rider, reported that Myers passed away “peacefully at home” on Wednesday.
King said on X that his wife Lillian, his family, and his close friend David were “by his side.”
“I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime,” she said.
“You, brother, will make the world shine forever. Godspeed. I’ll see you there. I enjoy you.
In May 2022, Dave Myers disclosed his cancer diagnosis—but not his identity—on the Hairy Bikers—Agony Uncles podcast.
He said in interviews from 2023 that he was receiving chemotherapy and was too ill to ride a motorcycle.
Since February, when filming on Hairy Bikers Go West on BBC Two restarted late in the year, the show has followed the TV chef from Scotland to Devon.
King praised his co-star as “remarkable” and stated, “It’s a series that we will always remember—not that we won’t remember others.”
This was vital because of Dave’s sickness and commitment to his work. Our jobs are a godsend.
“Especially to continue to do it while he was having treatment took remarkable courage and energy, which adds to why Dave and I will not forget it.”

2013 saw Dave Myers make an impression on Strictly Come Dancing viewers. Alongside Karen Hauer, he made it to the seventh week of the BBC tournament.
“His presence made our screens brighter.”
Robson Green, who starred in Gambling Man, expressed his compassion to the TV chef. The celebrity chef was known for his “warm smile, hearty laugh, and genuine love for people—not just the ingredients of his success, but a reflection of his zest for life.”
“His presence brightened our screens, and his heart and soul inspired all who knew him and many others to embrace the simple pleasures of sharing a meal with loved ones,” Green wrote on Twitter.
I’m hoping that people who knew him will never forget him. David Myers, regards. During this trying time, Simon is in my prayers and thoughts.
TV chef Andi Oliver expressed her “heart goes out” to Myers’s family, while judge Paul Hollywood of Great British Bake Off described it as “terrible.”
Partner Hauer, who was strict, described the news of Myers’s death as “heartbroken.”
