A well-funded company, Harness, releases new software delivery platform code management tools with four new capabilities.
The company launched open-source Gitness. Harness host code on GitHub as an alternative. One of four new platform tools uses Gitness.
Teams used to upgrade software every few weeks or months. Many software updates may occur daily. Continuous integration and delivery accelerate development.

The method requires certain software tools and can take weeks to implement. Harness promises a quick CI/CD platform setup. The $350-million startup streamlines other tech tasks, including reducing application cloud usage.

Harness released Gitness, an open-source developer code management tool. It allows development teams to consolidate application code for easy access, like on GitHub. Before publishing, team members can examine software upgrades for bugs using built-in communication capabilities.
CI/CD and code management are embedded into Gitness, says Harness. Programmers can automatically release new software with Engine.
Harness’ primary CI/CD platform, Code Repository, has four backends, starting with Gitness. The utility offers features to improve ability. The open-source OPA platform and external development tools ensure developers’ code matches their organization’s best standards.
The Internal Developer Portal and Code Repository launch together. Harness says the latter approach gives software teams technology.
The group provides developers with hundreds or thousands of peer-built software components. The new app design is faster with these parts. Finding them can be difficult because they are generally spread across numerous corporate divisions and systems.
Companies may catalog internal software components using the new Harness Internal Developer Portal. The library helps developers find project tech quickly. The app enforces business and cybersecurity requirements when distributing software.
Harness published two more specialized tools today. All try to ease developer software asset management.
Initial tool infrastructure-as-code (IaC) aids file management. Developers use the scripts to automate infrastructure functions like cloud instance creation. Harness’ platform deploys, tests, and finds infrastructure asset failures using IaC files.
The Harness software manager is open-source. Many enterprise programs employ open source. Harness helps firms monitor these elements for cyber security risks.
