A Swindon school’s boys’ football team competed in a major European league. The tournament was in Europe. High Worth Warne Ford School students on Shrivenham Road recently visited FC Bayern Munich home stadium in Germany. The adventure began on Wednesday, October 18th, and ended on Tuesday, October 24th.
Fifty young boys and six adults from the organization stayed in the Olympic Park neighborhood of Munich during that time period. The Swindon group participated in a total of four Bayern coaches-led training sessions.

Three of those sessions took place at Sabener Straße, the same facility that the first team uses for their practices. On the first day of training, the boys worked out on the same field as the first squad, and they even got to see Harry Kane, the captain of England’s team.

The young men played three games against German teams, including two matches against Bayern Munich’s second squad and RB Salzburg.
The U13, U14, and U16 teams defeated Intercultural 6-3, 7-1, and 4-0.The variety and caliber of the students’ experiences overwhelmed us as teachers, said PE Deputy Head David Gibbons.
“We were astounded by the caliber of the opportunities offered to our students,” a tutor stated. “Our student selections were good.
A teacher said the Bayern coaches’ dedication to our students was remarkable. Since they stayed after training to help the players during matches.
