Hollywood actor Michael Gambon Harry Potter’s Dumbledore died at the age of 82. Michael died peacefully in the hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside, following a bout of pneumonia.

An announcement was made by the actor’s representative, stating, “We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon.” “After contracting pneumonia, Michael, a devoted husband and father, passed away quietly in the hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus by his side.”

Actor Richard Harris passed away, and Gambon assumed the role of Albus Dumbledore. He purposefully altered the tone of the part, in contrast to how the character was portrayed in the early novels. He told The LA Times in 2009, working from the screenwriter’s lines, that he didn’t think there was “no point in reading the books.”

1940 saw the birth of Gambon in Ireland. After making his stage debut, Laurence Olivier cast him in the National Theater’s inaugural Hamlet production. For his stage acting, he was recognized with numerous awards, including three Olivier Awards.

His acting career took off in western Europe after he starred in the BBC series The Singing Detective in 1986. He won the first of his four BAFTA Awards for his performance. 1998 saw the knighting of Gambon.

He was a talented actor who played the part of Albus Dumbledore again in the Harry Potter series. He also acted in TV shows and films like The Casual Vacancy, Paddington, Hail, Caesar!, and the BBC adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s novel.

Despite his admiration for Rowling, he did not consider her writing to be his top priority, even as an actor. According to Gambon, “I didn’t do Harry Potter because she wrote it” during an interview. “Money was the driving force behind it for me.”
