In the Sarah Inam murder case, Shahnawaz Amir received a death sentence

Shahnawaz Amir was found guilty on Thursday of killing Sarah Inam by a trial court in Islamabad. The Rs. 1 million fine will be given to the deceased’s family.

The court cleared Shahnawaz’s mother, Samina Shah.

More than a year after the horrific murder, District and Sessions Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana delivered the reserved verdict. In the crowded courtroom today were the parents of Sarah, Sharukhat Mukaddam, the victim of a gender-based assault, and Noor Mukadam’s father.

The choice did not sit well with the victim’s father. Police swiftly led the offender out of the courtroom.

Shahnawaz, the son of author Ayaz Amir, assassinated Canadian Sarah in Islamabad in September of last year. She was killed the day after coming into the country from her employment in Dubai.

The Islamabad farmhouse in Shahzad Town is the location of Shahnawaz’s capture on September 23, 2018. The day after his arrest, he was first placed in police detention under physical remand; this status was regularly prolonged.

While his father was freed from custody, his mother, Sameena Shah, was granted post-arrest bail in November of last year. On December 5, Shahnawaz and his mother were charged.

According to Dr. Bushra Ashraf, a post-mortem expert, Sarah’s skull had numerous fractures when she testified in January before an Islamabad court.

Up until July, Shahnawaz’s lawyers cross-examined Sarah’s father and uncle. Shahnawaz had admitted it, according to Investigation Officer (IO) Habibur Rehman’s testimony from October. The court decided that the prosecution and the IO had thoroughly documented the comments made by the murder witnesses.

Sarah’s father desires disciplinary action against the prisoner’s mother.
Once Shahnawaz’s sentence was made public, Sarah’s father, Inaumur Rahim, and Shaukat Mukadam told the media that they approved of the verdict but that Samina should also have received some sort of punishment.

stated, “At the very least, the guilty will go to jail and be hanged.” “However, we believe Samina was involved in the murder as well, and she needs to face consequences.”

Rahim threatened to punish Shahnawaz’s mother as well because the latter had not withdrawn his claim made in accordance with Section 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

On the night of the murder, Sarah, Shahnawaz, and his mother were present at the farmhouse. How is it possible to believe them? He said, “We don’t know what happened that day.”

Rahim asked that the Chief Justice reconsider the ongoing Supreme Court case Noor Mukadam.

Rahim took issue with the length of the court cases in this specific instance. Overall, it’s not all that horrible. He said Shahnawaz was punished.

An example of a case study

In accordance with Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code, the police filed a first information report (FIR) in response to House Officer (SHO) Nawazish Ali Khan of Shahzad Town Station’s September murder report at the Chak Shahzad police station.

Shahnawaz’s parents, Sameena, and prominent writer Ayaz Amir were subsequently charged by the police under Section 109 of the PPC (pecuniary abetment, if the act helped, is executed in consequence and no specified punishment appears).

The incident happened after Sarah’s uncle informed the police that Shahnawaz had slain Sarah with his parents’ approval.

According to the FIR, the SHO was notified of the murder on Park Road, close to Chatha Bakhtawar.

When the police arrived at the farmhouse, the mother of the leading suspect allegedly informed them that her son had “murdered his wife during a scuffle.”

She notified the authorities that her son was still at home, according to the FIR. He was caught with his hands “soaked in blood” after breaking into the house, according to the report.

The defendant, Shahnawaz Amir, admitted to the police that he murdered his wife with a dumbbell and concealed her body in the bathtub.

Officers discovered the deceased’s body with a head wound, per the FIR. The police also discovered the murder weapon inside the house, “hidden under a bed.”

At the Poly Clinic, forensics examined Shahnawaz’s murder weapon and clothing after performing an autopsy on his body.
