Rohit Sharma got out for nil in the first Twenty20 encounter of the season, which was played against Afghanistan in Mohali. This marked the end of his 14-month sabbatical from Twenty20 cricket. He had faced only two deliveries at the beginning of the match. The disrespect of Shubman Gill for Rohit Sharma’s intention to complete a single in a short amount of time infuriated the sophisticated person.
The result was a single after Rohit Sharma’s opening partner Shubman Gill caught Afghan spinner Fazalhaq Farooqi’s long ball. After making a terrible mistake, wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz dismissed Rohit and Shubman.

Thanks to excellent batting conditions, India’s innings concluded in 17.3 overs as they decreased the declared total.
For the first time since the Asian Games, Dube lost four wickets in four overs in a Twenty20 match. Then he had a 44-run standoff off 29 balls with Tilak Varma (26 off 22).
Long levers and forceful off-side drives were supplied by Dube to sustain the injury-prone Hardik Pandya. He finished the main leg with an amazing six and four, the perfect way to top off an outstanding effort.
Jitesh Sharma (31 off 20) and Rinku Singh (16 not out of 9) joined Dube in the middle, with Rinku Singh concluding with the team.
