Muhammad Siraj helped bowl Sri Lanka out for 50, which Indian openers Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill exceeded in 6.1 overs to lead their nation to a superb victory ahead of the ODI World Cup at home next month. In barely an hour, Pandya took three wickets to finish the innings. The only double-digit scores in an inning with five ducks were Hemantha’s 13 and 17.

Unbeaten Shubman Gill started the opening with a century. The initial player, Ishan Kishan, was curious.

India won the shorter final after left-handed spinner Ishan hit Matheesha Pathirana for two boundaries and Gill added three.

Despite losing a worthless Super Four encounter to Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma’s India only lost one game.

Sri Lanka, the underdog who thrillingly defeated Afghanistan to reach the T20 Asia Cup Super Fours, lost their eleventh final.
