By providing different information technology (IT) services to other countries, Pakistan earned US $892.972 million in the first four months of the current fiscal year 2023–24.

This is a 4.45% increase over the US $854.918 million gained from service provision during the same months of the previous fiscal year, 2022–2023, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

During the examined months, the export of computer services grew by 4.81 percent, from US $688.078 million in July 2023 to US $721.162 million in October of the same year.

Exports of computer services saw a 93.76 percent growth in software consultancy services this year, rising from US $1.009 million to US $1.955 million, and a 1.13 percent gain in hardware consultancy services, rising from US $253.543 million to US $256.408 million.

The export of repair and maintenance services increased by 3.16 percent, from US $0.443 million to US $0.457 million, while the import and export of computer software services increased by 4.01 percent, from $190.228 million to $197.862 million.

During the study period, IT services were exported for US$1.040 million, a 25.18% drop from US$1.390 million.

IT services saw a 21.04 percent gain in exports from US $0.366 million to US $0.443 million, whereas US $1.024 million to US $0.597 million was a 41.70 percent fall for news agency services.

According to the study, telecom service exports increased by 4.45%, from US $165.45 million to US $170.770 million.

According to PBS data, exports of contact centre services to the telecom sector rose by 8.84 percent in the month, from US $69.641 million to US $75.800 million. However, the export of other communications services fell this year by 0.88 percent, from US $95.809 million to US $94.790 million.
