A New York tribunal found actor Jonathan Majors guilty of beating his ex-girlfriend.
The jury found Majors, who plays Kang in Marvel flicks, hit British dancer Grace Jabbari in March after a brawl.
She informed the judge she had bruises, a fractured finger, a cut behind her ear, and “excruciating” pain.
After being cast as a supporting character in Marvel films, Majors, 34, may spent a year in prison.
On Monday, the six-person jury rendered their decision after three days.
Court reporters stated Majors only pursed his lips and looked down when their verdict was read.
Marvel will not make any further Majors-related films, a spokeswoman said.
As they drove through New York, Ms. Jabbari saw a text message from another woman on Majors’ phone. Crime occurred then. It said “Wish I was kissing you right now.”
The prosecution claims he grabbed her, dragged her arm behind her back, and slapped her in the head to get the phone.
Ms. Jabbari said, “I felt like a hard blow across my head.”
The jury convicted him of two of four domestic violence offences.
He was convicted of harassment and reckless bodily harm.
The jury acquitted him of severe harassment and assault with intent to cause physical harm.
The prosecution described Majors’ assault as the latest attempt to “exert control” over his spouse by physically and psychologically abusing her. The jury heard voice recordings and text messages from the ex-couple.
A monster, I am. A nasty person, “not capable of love,” the singer threatened suicide in a September 2022 text.
Majors advised her to act like Michelle Obama and Coretta Scott King, the former first lady and spouses of Martin Luther King, Jr., as captured on camera during a furious dispute the same month.
“I am doing great things, not just for myself but for my culture and the world,” he said, insisting she “make sacrifices” to be his partner.
Majors didn’t testify. His attorney claimed that Ms. Jabbari attacked the actor in jealousy after finding the text message in the car.
