The Bills drew the Buccaneers dangerously close. But in the end, the Bills triumphed 24–18 against the Buccaneers on Thursday night football at Orchard Park, New York‘s Highmark Stadium. Along with his touchdown rush, Josh Allen led the way for the Bills with 324 yards and two scores through the air.

After Allen scored on a 13-yard run and then found rookie Dalton Kincaid for a 22-yard touchdown pass, the Bills led 17-10 at the half.

The Bills led 24-10 at the half after Allen guided them on a nine-play, 75-yard drive that ended with a 4-yard touchdown pass to Gabe Davis.

Until their defense handed up a face mask and an illegal contact penalty, which gave Tampa a lifeline in two different fourth-down situations, the Bills held a dominating lead in the fourth quarter.

This would set up a 24-yard touchdown throw between Mayfield and Mike Evans, completing a 17-play, 92-yard drive. The Bucs added a successful 2-point conversion with 2:44 left in the game to cut the lead to 24–18.

Even though they would eventually recover the ball with twenty-one seconds left, quarterback Baker Mayfield‘s mishandled attempt to throw the ball into the end zone, where wide receiver Chris Godwin would have caught the game-winning pass had he turned around a second sooner, would have destroyed any chance of a spectacular comeback.

Nevertheless, Allen effectively led the Bills by deftly tossing the ball to his wide corps. Khalil Shakir finished with six catches for 92 yards, while Davis finished with nine receptions for 87 yards and one touchdown. Stefon Diggs had nine receptions for seventy yards, while Kincaid had five for sixty-five yards and one touchdown.

After the victory, the Bills’ record is currently 5-3. The Buccaneers have dropped their last three games and are at 3-4.
