Reaf More: Man City advanced to the round of 16 of the Champions League by defeating Young Boys 3-0.
The Australian selectors, who awarded points in the order of three, two, and one after each match, gave the South Sydney skipper the win after judging him competent in just two matches.
In the two second-row games, Murray had five tackle-busts, two line-breaks, a line-break assist, and a try assist. He contributed two tries, 85 post-contact metres, 252 metres from 26 hit-ups, and 54 tackles, missing only two.
Murray received the award from coach Mal Meninga before the Pacific Champions final on Saturday, November 4, in front of his teammates.
He said, “I believed his first two games in the green-and-gold jersey(Kangaroos) were his finest.”
“ISGRUSTFULLY, he was unable to attend our third and final game.”
The 25-year-old has played eight Tests for Australia since his 2019 Tonga Invitational debut.
