NFL Network Insider According to Ian Rapoport, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins may have torn his Achilles tendon in Sunday’s win against the Green Bay Packers. Game score: 24-10.
Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell told journalists that Cousins will receive an MRI to assess his Achilles tendon ailment. If the injury was worse, Cousins’ season would have ended after eight games.

O’Connell told reporters after the game, “Thinking about our quarterback, he went out today again as he has for most of the 2023 season and played the quarterback position as well as anybody in our league and just continued to build and build and build.” Achilles tendon rupture worries us.
This will be investigated. I have no idea how serious it is, but it scares us. Take Kirk into account. Our captain and others in the locker room are thinking about him. Happy with him.
He performed well in this campaign. Whether we lose him for one play or the season, he meant a lot to me and our team this year and played well.
The Cousins offence struggled to get off the field in the fourth quarter, trailing Minnesota by 24 points. After being checked, he was allowed to leave the medical tent despite his ankle injuries. After that, they took him to the actor’s changeroom.
Before the injury, Cousins had completed 23 of 31 passes for 274 yards and two touchdowns. He played brilliantly all season and again in 2023, especially following the Vikings’ nail-biting win over the 49ers on Monday.
Jaren Hall, a first-year quarterback, replaced Kirk Cousins but only completed three of four throws for 23 yards. O’Connell did not announce Hall as the starting quarterback after Sunday’s game. The veteran Nick Mullens, who was placed on injured reserve earlier this month, may return after recovering from his back injury.
