Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to quit after the season

Following the conclusion of the current season, Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, will resign from his position.

Klopp became Liverpool manager on October 8, 2015.

“Jurgen Klopp has informed the club’s ownership of his wish to leave his position in the summer and has announced his decision to step down as LFC manager at the end of the season,” the release said.

After taking Liverpool to the EFL final on Wednesday, the 56-year-old will manage the team for the remaining 2023–24 games before leaving Anfield after eight and a half years.

Klopp has led the team to six major titles.

At the end of the season, assistant managers Pepijn Lijnders and Peter Krawietz and elite development coach Vitor Matos will retire.

Jurgen Klopp said, “I can understand that it’s a shock for a lot of people in this moment, when you hear it for the first time, but obviously I can explain it—or at least try to explain it.”

“I love this club’s players, staff, city, fans, and everything else. All of them are my favourites. I love everything. But know that I’m sure of this decision and will stick to it.

I’m exhausted. Problem-free right now. Everything’s good, but I knew I’d need to reveal something. I can’t keep doing the homework.

“The respect and love I had for you grew over the years we spent together, the time we spent together, and the things we experienced together, and the truth is the least I owe you,” he stated.

Liverpool won the FA Community Shield, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup, League Cup, and Champions League under Jurgen Klopp, as I informed the club in November. Even though I work mostly in these situations, the public may only see me on the sidelines, during training, and in other appropriate moments. I may be seen elsewhere. Klopp thinks you should be ready for next season by now.
