Manchester United is apparently interested in Girona’s dynamic Miguel Gutierrez, but they can expect Real Madrid to put up a fierce battle. The Sun made this information public on Friday.
Having started 18 of Girona’s 19 La Liga games so far, the 22-year-old left-back is one of Michel Sanchez’s most reliable players.
Sergio Reguilon, a left-back for Manchester United, returned to his parent club, so the squad needs to find a successor as soon as possible.

Given that Girona and González have contracts that expire in 2027, it seems unlikely that the Catalan team will decide to part with one of their most vital players. The Catalan squad might have to ask for at least £22 million, according to The Sun, in order to get rid of the 22-year-old.
Real Madrid will surely fight Manchester United hard even in that case because Gutierrez was a student at Los Blancos’ La Fabrica facility. While other teams would have to pay a release clause worth €40 million, the club would keep 50% of the player’s rights and could bring him back for as little as €8 million.
The Whites may need to sign a new left-back in the summer due to Ferland Mendy’s numerous injuries. Mendy is one of their full-backs. Mendy’s contract was recently extended until 2026, but head coach Carlo Ancelotti still has faith in the player, so the squad will need to consider adding players in the summer.
If Madrid were to match United’s bid, Gutierrez “could either be bought back to sell at a profit or easily brought back into the fold of their own team.”.
It’s important to keep in mind that Real Madrid and Girona will be this year’s adversaries for the La Liga championship. Los Blancos and their superior goal differential have allowed them to share the group lead with 48 points apiece.
