In an effort to rise in the rankings, eighth-ranked welterweight Ian Garry squared the battle against tenth-ranked Geoff Neal on Saturday’s main card of UFC 298.
Neil Magny lost to an undefeated Garry. Illness kept him from competing against Vicente Luque at UFC 296 in December. “The Future” believed that he would prevail over Neal in this year’s title defense.
In March of last year, Shavkat Rakhmonov submitted Neal to stop his winning streak of two bouts. It was the night of the UFC 285 fight. He hoped to win this season’s first match against Garry with ease.
