While on a family vacation in the South Pacific, Troy Dargan, a utility player for the Canberra Raiders and a former South Sydney Rabbitoh, passed away at the age of 26.
Through a social media post, Aria Management Group announced the sad news regarding one of their clients, Dargan.
“On behalf of the Dargan family, it is with a heavy heart that we share the news of TJ’s tragic passing over night,” the agency posted on social media shortly after 1 p.m.
While on vacation with his family on Cook Island, TJ was involved in a motorcycle accident.
Dargan is of Indigenous and Cook Islander descent and participated in two Test matches for the Cook Islands.

According to the statement made public by Aria Management Group, “TJ is a cherished son to Troy and Wendy, a loving brother to Tamalee and Korokai, and a friend to many, many others.”
“His family is in our thoughts and prayers; TJ will be greatly missed.”
Dargan played in two games for the Rabbitohs in his 2020 NRL debut.
Last month, the utility guy and the Raiders agreed to a two-year development contract. In 2023, he participated in six NSW Cup games for the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles.
Dargan was a player for the Brisbane Broncos and the Parramatta Eels.
After hearing of Dargan’s passing, colleagues in the rugby league community were taken aback and devastated.
Manly Sea Eagles football player Josh Schuster posted on social media with the message, “RIP brother, best bloke.”
“RIP, my brother. On Instagram, Raiders player James Schiller wrote, “Love you, mate.”
The Brisbane Broncos also expressed their feelings about the club.
The news of Troy Dargan’s passing deeply saddens the Broncos. We are offering prayers for him, his family, and friends. a lifelong supporter of the Broncos franchise,” the group posted on social media.
