On New Year’s Eve, the Karachi division of the district administration implemented Section 144, as News reported on Saturday.
The Karachi commissioner delivered a statement stating that Section 144 will go into force on Saturday evening, or today, and remain in effect until January 1st, 2024.
The statement stated that anyone found to be engaging in aerial fire within the city limits will face consequences.
Karachi traffic police have finished creating a strategy for dealing with drunk drivers in the port city on New Year’s Eve.

He claimed that since these kinds of instances have become more common and have led to a substantial number of fatal traffic accidents in Karachi, the police have bought breathalysers to test drivers who look suspicious of being intoxicated.
He continued by saying that drunk drivers would be prosecuted and have their cars impounded.
On Thursday, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar suspended all New Year’s celebrations in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people.
He also asked people to observe simplicity at the start of the New Year in order to support the persecuted Gazan community.
He went on to say in a special broadcast address that the slaughter of innocent Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as the deaths of oppressed Palestinians, especially innocent children, deeply saddened the whole Pakistani people and the Muslim Ummah. In addition, he claimed that a Palestinian genocide had taken place in Gaza and the West Bank.
