The highly anticipated ACC U19 Asia Cup 2023 match has finally taken place. When India U19 and Pakistan U19 play each other on Sunday at the ICC Cricket Academy Ground in Dubai, all eyes will be on them.
Thanks to a few standout performances, Pakistan’s U19 Asia Cup campaign got off to a good start at the ICC Cricket Academy as they thrashed Nepal U19 by an astounding seven wickets.
Zeeshan completely destroyed the Nepali batting order; therefore, the Pakistan U-19 chose to bowl first. The 18-year-old pacer took six wickets at 19 runs, which is the highest total by a Pakistani bowler at this level since only Shaheen Shah Afridi’s 6-15 against Ireland U19 in 2018.
The incredible partnership between captain Saad Baig (108 off 107 balls) and Azan Awais saved Pakistan’s innings when they were two down for 23 in their pursuit of 153. Zeeshan, who had been excellent with the ball, also blasted two fours and as many sixes on his way to a swift 20 in just eight balls.
Pakistan chased the goal in just 26.2 overs, but they outperformed the opponents in 47.2 overs with a net run rate of +2.770.
The Qasim Akram-led squad won the most recent encounter between Pakistan U19 and India U19, which took place at the ICC Academy Ground No. 2 in 2021, by a margin of two wickets. With 81 runs to help the team surpass the 238-run milestone, Muhammad Shahzad was named the player of the match.

In an interview with PCB Digital the evening before the game, Pakistan U19 head coach Muhammad Yousaf stated that “everyone played really well, especially the bowlers who bowled responsibly.” Captain Saad Baig and Azan Awais both made excellent fifties while deftly adapting to the circumstances. Together, these two individuals were a great team to help us reach our objective.
As a pinch bat, we pushed Mohammad Zeeshan up the order, and he showed his abilities. We achieved the milestone in 26.2 overs early in the competition, which improved our net run rate. The lads are extremely intelligent, well-mannered, and cautious. Like every other game, we’re ready to play and will give it everything we’ve got to win tomorrow.”
“Zeeshan is incredibly talented. His height and powerful frame serve him well. He demonstrated his abilities as a pinch hitter yesterday by bowling with the proper length and line. He also proved to be a capable batter. Our team will gain from this.
