Pakistan-Jordan FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers are expected to attract a few people

Pakistan‘s FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying round match against Jordan on Thursday may not generate a large audience due to the day game, Ramadan, and other events surrounding the Sports Complex.

The March 23 march in the nation’s capital will begin with a full-dress rehearsal. All roads around the complex, save Kashmir Highway, will be closed until 2:00 PM on March 21, when the game begins. Spectators from Rawalpindi must use the Kashmir (Srinagar) Highway or 9th Avenue to reach Gates 1 and 2. These gates allow Pakistan Sports Complex entry.

Two earlier international matches in the nation’s capital, against Tajikistan and Cambodia, drew large audiences that made the football match look like cricket. In other cases, these games were attended by highly knowledgeable fans who eagerly cheered both teams’ strong plays.

Since the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying round starts at 2 p.m., we encourage the public to start driving to the stadium from the Srinagar Highway at 1 p.m. They can arrive at the venue before the match.” We and the complex’s sporting events will be busy on March 21, acting DDG Administration official Saeed Akhtar told “The News.”

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) held its congress in the complex after the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying match. There are more nighttime events.

The meeting asks for a vote of confidence in newly nominated PHF president Tariq Masoori Bugti. Obtaining a Congress vote of confidence is a constitutional prerequisite since his candidacy and the resignation of former president PHF Brig (r) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar.

The meeting will likely draw 100 nominees from districts and affiliated units. “We have specific Congress meeting plans. Even though the facility will be busy, the Congress conference should go well. Saeed hoped they’d have no issue with their regular routine.

After arriving in the city, the Pakistani football team practiced on Monday. The team trained for about an hour in the afternoon. Jordan’s Asia Cup final team is expected in the city on Tuesday. Group training should commence on the same day.
