The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, wished a happy New Year to all the populace and reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to advancing development and national security.
The COAS concluded his unusual New Year’s Eve speech by saying, “A challenging yet momentous year of 2023 is over.” The brave and loyal people of Pakistan are wished a happy new year by the Pakistan Armed Forces.
He continued by saying that Pakistan will have to keep a careful eye on 2024 from both a domestic and international standpoint.
According to General Munir, the Armed Forces uphold the nation’s sense of patriotism by serving the nation, which offers countless “bounties and opportunities.”

“The aspirations of our ancestors and the ambitions of the Pakistani people will undoubtedly be realised by our wonderful country. Indeed, insha’Allah, we have a prosperous future ahead of us.
“In line with the directive of the honourable PM of Pakistan, we stand with and pray for the resilient people of Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir [IIOJK] and hope that the New Year will bring relief in their sufferings from tyrannical regimes,” General Munir was quoted as saying by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In support of the Palestinian people, who are currently experiencing the worst acts of aggression from Israel since October 7, acting prime minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar announced the nationwide ban on New Year’s celebrations on Thursday.
