The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony confirmed that the moon was visible on Thursday, the first day of Jumadi al-Thani, the first month of the Islamic calendar year 1445 Hijri.
Under the direction of Abdul Khabeer Azad, the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee convened in Islamabad to discuss the moon sighting. Every committee member reported seeing the crescent moon.
Apart from the national assembly held in the capital, parallel gatherings of zonal committees were held in key towns such as Quetta, Peshawar, Lahore, and Karachi. Witness statements helped the committee determine the official start date for Jumadi al-Thani.

Abdul Khabeer, the head of the Rawit Hilal Committee, expressed gratitude to all those who helped identify the moon sighting. He announced that Friday, December 15, is Jumadi al-Thani in accordance with the Islamic calendar.
In response to this heavenly occurrence, the Ministry of Religious Affairs swiftly released an official statement reaffirming the committee’s ruling and recognizing the start of Jumadi al-Thani.
