Pakistani batsmen scored their first hundred in the World Cup today. In 1987, Pakistan scored three hundred in a competition for the first time. Zero since 2000, 100 in 2003, 750 in 2007 and 2015, and 2 in 2019.

Abdullah Shafique’s 111 in Pakistan’s inaugural World Cup beat Mohsin Khan’s 82 in Swansea in 1983. At 23 years and 324 days, Shafique is the second-youngest Pakistani World Cup player behind Imam-ul-Haq, scoring a century.
The 176-run partnership between Shafique and Rizwan is Pakistan’s second-highest for any wicket in World Cup matches, behind the 194-run opening stand between Saeed Anwar and Wajahatullah Wasti against New Zealand in the 1999 semifinal.
