The basic contract of the fast bowler Haris Rauf has been terminated, as stated in a statement that was issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday.
The decision was prompted by an inquiry into the pacer’s denial to go to Australia in 2023–2024 with the Pakistani Test team.
The central contract for Rauf has ended as of December 1st, 2023. From this day until June 30, 2024, the right-hand pitcher will not be permitted to participate in any foreign league that possesses a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
“Haris Rauf was given the opportunity for a personal hearing in compliance with the principles of natural justice on January 30, 2024, and his response was found unsatisfactory,” reads a news release from the PCB.

As per the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), playing for Pakistan is the greatest honor and joy. Even with a fit evaluation or persuasive argument, declining to represent Pakistan in Test matches is a major breach of the basic contract. A major agreement violation happened.
Recall that Haris Rauf declined to play in the Australia Tests due to workload concerns and injury risk.
During his career, Rauf has only played in one test match for Pakistan, against England in Rawalpindi in 2022.
The 30-year-old has taken 69 and 90 wickets in 37 one-day internationals and 66 twenty20 internationals, respectively.
In order to prepare for the start of the ninth season of the Pakistan Super League, which is set to begin on February 17, the speedster is now participating in training sessions with the Lahore Qalandars team.
