The Philadelphia 76ers‘ head coach, Nick Nurse, gave an injury report on Wednesday that highlighted Joel Embiid, who is presently the most valuable player in the league.
According to Nick Nurse, there’s a “good likelihood” that Embiid will make a comeback in time for the postseason.
Before the Sixers faced the Los Angeles Clippers, Nick Nurse said, “There’s a strong chance he’ll be back before the postseason.” Before the game, they discussed the topic of nursing.
Embiid has only been able to see bench time in 27 games this season due to a meniscus injury he suffered while playing for Golden State in January of this year. On February 6, he also had surgery due to his injuries. Embiid has averaged 35.3 points and 11.5 rebounds so far this season.
Embiid started working out on the floor over the last two weeks, but it’s unclear how much better he has gotten yet.
“He’s on the court, as you guys know, but we still don’t have a timeline,” stated Nick Nurse, adding that Philadelphia’s recent four-game trip to the West Coast prevented him from meeting him in person.
It wouldn’t surprise me if he improved with time. His objective is to become stronger, more confident, physically healthy, and full of energy.
When queried about the nature of Embiid’s on-court activities, including whether or not they involved scrimmages against the Sixers’ G-League squad, the nurse simply said that Embiid was “on the court” and that “we’ll let you know when we get there” in reference to Embiid’s anticipated return date. There were more queries posed.
After this Wednesday, the Philadelphia Eagles, who are currently seventh in the Eastern Conference, will have nine games remaining in the regular season.
