Riots break out in Dublin: An incident involving a knife in the center of Dublin injured five people, including three young children and the suspected individual.

After riot police and anti-immigrant protestors clashed, authorities suspended public transportation, and patients were advised to avoid going to a nearby maternity center unless absolutely necessary.

A double-decker bus was set on fire in front of the statue of Daniel O’Connell, which is located at the top of the street. Additionally, the windows of a Holiday Inn hotel and a McDonald’s restaurant that are located nearby were shattered.

“These are dishonourable scenes.” The Commissioner of Police, Drew Harris, made the following statement: “We have a completely insane, hooligan faction that is motivated by far-right ideology and is engaging in serious violence.”

An arsonist set a police car on fire.

As far as Dublin is concerned, this kind of rioting is nearly unheard of.

A man in his 50s has been described as a person of interest.

Although no far-right organizations or members of parliament have been elected to office, the past year has seen an upsurge in the number of demonstrations against immigration.

As a result of a recent demonstration that blocked members of parliament from accessing the building, the administration is currently investigating the security measures that surround the parliament.

The head of police does not completely discount the possibility of terrorist attacks.

According to the most senior official in Ireland’s police force, they have taken into consideration every conceivable motivation, including terrorist activity.

A child who was five years old and had sustained significant injuries was reportedly undergoing care in an emergency room, as reported by the responsible authorities.

The authorities made the announcement that they were no longer hunting for any further suspects after they had taken into custody a guy in his 50s who was also receiving serious medical attention.

The man allegedly assaulted a number of people in Dublin’s Parnell Square, which is located in close proximity to O’Connell Street, the city’s primary thoroughfare, at approximately 1:30 minutes after the clock struck.

People from the general public intervened at an early stage in the assault.

“I never ruled out any possible motive for this attack,” said Ireland’s Chief of Police, Drew Harris, in response to a statement made by a senior officer to the media claiming that the incident had nothing to do with terrorism.

“As I stated at the outset, all lines of inquiry are open to determine the motive.”

“I’m not going to speculate on a terrorist motive any further.” It is imperative that we have an open mind about the reasons for this occurrence until we have determined the cause.

A thirty-year-old woman was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The two other children, a girl who was six years old and a boy who was five years old, were both injured, despite being relatively minor. The hospital has discontinued the care for the young patient.

Despite the fact that the assault took place in close proximity to a school, Liam Geraghty, the superintendent of police, stated that it had nothing to do with the educational establishment.

After a group of approximately fifty anti-immigrant demonstrators broke through a police cordon for a brief while just before six o’clock in the evening, the area was kept shut off.

Some of them yelled, “Get them out!” One of them kicked a police car’s wing mirror. There was a second individual who was carrying an Irish flag.

Shortly after that, riot police officers armed with shields and helmets came.

Superintendent Geraghty responded to an inquiry about the nationality of the detained man, stating that the police were unable to confirm any specific data about any of the individuals involved.

As Anthony Boyle, 31, an information technology consultant from Northampton, was walking past, he reportedly “saw a child on the ground, a little girl.” Reuters reports that Boyle spotted the child.

“There was complete and utter pandemonium, women wailing, men screaming and crying.”

The Prime Minister of Ireland, Leo Varadkar, issued a statement in which he said, “We are all shocked by the incident.”
