Indian captain Rohit Sharma smashed all records while playing Afghanistan in a historic century at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi. He plans to carry on and hit more professional highs after that. Rohit is one of only three hitters to have smashed 300 sixes in the history of the ODI format. Rohit just needed to hit three sixes before the game to reach the milestone. In the 246th over of the ODI, he hit his 300th six.

Three figures and the first-ever Indian batter

On the list of hitters with the most sixes in one-day internationals, Chris Gayle (a former West Indian opener with 331 sixes) and Shahid Afridi (a former Pakistani all-rounder with 351 sixes) are the only two players behind Rohit Sharma. Not too long ago, Rohit Sharma rose to the top of the international cricket six-hitter rankings. Rohit surpassed Chris Gayle to become the team’s top six-hitter in cricket for the international side. He broke Gayle’s mark in Delhi, defeating Afghanistan.

Among the top six batters in the ODI World Cup, Rohit Sharma is ranked third. Now that he has 32 sixes in just 20 games, Rohit is third on the list. Chris Gayle now holds the record with 49 sixes, followed by AB de Villiers, a former captain of South Africa, with 37. It took Rohit Sharma 36 balls to reach his 53rd half-century in an ODI. When facing Pakistani bowlers, he doesn’t hesitate to take any chances. However, it appeared that Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, and Shaheen Afridi were all illiterate.

India’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, and Brendon McCullum have similar playing styles. He has faced bowlers from the opening ball the last two times. Brendon McCullum spoke to bowlers in the same way during the 2015 World Cup. He then guided New Zealand to the World Cup title. The next league encounter between Bangladesh and India is scheduled for October 19 at MCA Stadium in Pune.
