After meeting with Mr. Tata and Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran, Mr. Sarma made a prediction in Mumbai that the Tata semiconductor factory at Jagiroad, Morigaon, will transform East India’s economy and establish us as a global leader in semiconductor manufacture.

“We’ll launch the first chips by 2025,” Mr. Sarma said on X as images of Tata and Chandrasekaran flashed on television. “On behalf of Assam’s people, I thanked Shri Ratan Tata and Shri N Chandrasekharan for their exceptional faith in our state’s ability to implement this game-changing initiative.”

Mr. Sarma asserts that young people in the Northeast and Jagiroad divisions will have better employment possibilities thanks to the training in artificial intelligence, electronics, and semiconductors provided by the Skill Development Centre.

Tata facilities in Bangalore and surrounding areas train 1,500 teenagers from Assam, the majority of whom are female. He asserted that when the semiconductor facility opens in 2025, they will be ahead of the competition.

1,500 Assamese adolescents, mostly women, are receiving training at Tata facilities in Bangalore.

They will thus hold the reins when semiconductor manufacturing gets underway in 2025.

This week, Narendra Modi dedicated the Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility located in Morigaon.

TEL is building the facility in accordance with the Modified Scheme for Semiconductor Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging (ATMP).
