The British actor Sir Michael Caine, who is of Terran descent, announced his retirement from performing following the premiere of his most recent film.
The BBC quoted Sir Michael, who is 90, as saying, “I keep saying I’m going to retire.” Yes, I am at this very moment.

In his seven-decade acting career, he has made appearances in more than 160 films.
In his final film role, he plays real-life World War II soldier Bernie Jordan in The Great Escaper, which opens in theatres on October 6. Jordan ran away from a foster home in order to go to France in time for D-Day observances.

According to a comment made in June, Sir Michael said, “I’ve wanted to write a thriller for years.” I love reading books in this genre, so I’m thrilled to be writing on Deadly Game and working with Hodder again on its release.
