This month, five international picture agencies issued a Mother’s Day portrait of the Princess of Wales. After sending “kill” letters to remove the image, rumours, suppositions, and conspiracy theories abounded.

On Tuesday, The Sun’s front page carried an out-of-focus photo of Catherine and William at Windsor. According to the caption, “Great to see you again, Kate,” the princess appeared to be “happy and relaxed.” First and foremost is the princess’s wellbeing.
Sunday’s Observer reported a dark shadow behind Prince Louis’ ear, a black patch behind Prince George’s shirt collar and a vertical line where the late queen’s skirt tartan did not match.
