Panthers’ Paul Maurice: “We had a tough first [period].” Play will last 246 periods. I hope that describes our worst. Evaluate them. They skated hard. It was a tough game in Arizona. Coach Luke Richardson probably focused on them. Perhaps the most influential of the two periods that followed After the first period, we must find a way out without apologizing.
The Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Florida Panthers ( Highlights )
We had enough energy tonight. Thus, we did not know when it would begin. Time was misjudged.
Nick Foligno‘s power play goal gave the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead in the first. Seth Jones’ blue line shot hit Panthers defenseman Gustav Forsling, sending the puck to Foligno in the slot. Foligno’s wristshot made it.
Nikita Zaitsev scored in the slot after Kurashev passed at 9:21 in 4-on-4 play to make it 2-0. It was Zaitsev’s first goal of the year.
At 12:39, Hall made it 3-0. After Jason Dickinson passed the puck to him, he skated in on Stolarz and put it between his pads. Hall missed three games after being traded to the Boston Bruins on June 26 due to a shoulder injury.

Bedard scored his fifth goal of the year at 5:29 in the second to lead 4-0. He took the puck in the neutral zone, skated left, and beat Stolarz with a shot after Florida turned it over.
Bedard had two shots in 16:19. Forsling blocked an 18-year-old rookie center shot late in the second quarter. After limping to the bench, he returned to the ice.
Richardson said, “I think he was in that awkward spot, like 10 feet away, where it’s going to hurt a little more.” What’s intriguing? followed the rules and stayed in the lane. That boosted our bench. I want a young man to do that. It showed he did well.
Ekman-Larsson scored on a wrist shot from inside the blue line at 6:33 of the third to make it 4-1 during a power play.
Florida trailed 4-2 when Tkachuk scored on a Carter Verhaeghe rebound at 12:29. With 194 goals and 306 assists, Tkachuk reached 500 NHL points.
“To be honest, it doesn’t mean much anymore.” “I’m lucky to have played with so many excellent players.” They delivered it directly to us. It becomes too difficult to recover when you concede three goals and then a fourth. However, we were near and had our opportunities. You’re really putting yourself in a difficult situation when you’re three or four goals behind.
Kurashev completed the 5-2 victory at 19:50 by scoring into an empty net.
Kurashev claimed that “our first period was definitely great.” Second, they kind of pulled ahead, but Petr’s outstanding play kept us in the game. We performed an outstanding job weathering the storm despite our best efforts.
NOTES: On February 17, 1989, Bedard (18 years, 110 days) broke Jeremy Roenick’s record of 19 years, 31 days by becoming the youngest player in Blackhawks history with a three-game goal streak. Of Chicago’s 29 shots, defenseman Jarred Tinordi stopped nine. The Panthers’ four-game (3-0-1) unbeaten streak came to an end.
