Perhaps Pixar fans are busy at work with new emotion “Suggest Joy,” as the first trailer for “Inside Out 2” has just been released.
The sequel to the 2015 animated coming-of-age feature “Inside Out” is titled “Inside Out 2.” A star-studded cast portrayed the five emotions in 11-year-old Riley’s (Kaitlyn Dias) mind: astonishment (Amy Poehler), sadness (Phyllis Smith), disgust (Mindy Kaling), fear (Bill Hader), and anger (Lewis Black). The sequel trailer introduces a novel emotion: orange, agitated anxiety.

Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling have reportedly decided not to reprise their roles as Fear and Disgust in the sequel due to salary disputes. Their respective replacements are Tony Hale and Liza Lapira.
In “Inside Out,” Riley struggles to adapt to her new environment in San Francisco subsequent to her relocation from Minnesota. Due to her turbulent adolescence, she experiences major emotional issues and risks losing her close friends and family.
“Inside Out” shows Joy and Sadness exploring Riley’s head to help her adjust to her new environment and emotions.
When released, “Inside Out” won the 2016 Academy Award for best animated feature. Critics and audiences liked it.

‘Inside Out’ surpasses all other Pixar films in its ability to transcend the screen and leave a lasting impression on audiences,” he argued. It was “an iconic and refined visual metaphor for [audiences’] capacity to comprehend and sympathize with one another’s emotions.”
Disney revealed the sequel during the D23 Expo in 2022. Kelsey Mann directs the second film, and Meg LeFauve, who wrote the first, writes the screenplay.
“Inside Out 2” opens in theaters on June 14, 2024, nearly nine years after the first film.
